Digs With Dignity (DIGS) is a 501©(3) not-for-profit organization dedicated to breaking the cycle of homelessness by furnishing homes with creative, custom designs using sustainable, upcycled solutions. They strive to instill a sense of ownership and dignity by bringing the families’ vision to life. By understanding people’s struggles, they build connection that then leads to empowerment, which will help break the cycle of homelessness. Due to their efforts since 2019, they have transformed spaces into homes for over 180 families and have kept 200,000 lbs of furniture and home goods out of landfills in the process.

FreshLens Chicago shares this vision of empowerment through creativity. Our mission is to highlight the voices and talents of high school student artists, providing them with opportunities to showcase and sell their work while learning the value of giving back. Through our partnership with DIGS, student art becomes more than just an expression, it becomes transformative. Student created art will find a new and meaningful purpose by helping to brighten and personalize the homes of individuals and families who are moving into stable housing. Every piece donated tells a story of creativity, resilience, and hope, while giving students a unique opportunity to see their work making a direct impact in the community.
