Cameras
As many of you know, this Fall our school was burglarized. 15 of our program cameras along with hard drives, lenses and many other types of equipment were taken. Through the generosity of over 200 people, we are excited to announce that we were able to replace our stolen cameras with new Canon R10 mirrorless cameras. These new cameras will give our students the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of photography in our basic class using the latest in mirrorless technology. THANK YOU to all of our supporters this Fall and all year round.

Grants
We are excited to announce 2 grants that we have received this year. We are honored and appreciative of both these agencies for their support of our program. FreshLens received a $10,000 grant from The Albert Pick Fund. The focus of this grant is to further expand our reach to the most marginalized areas of Chicago. We also received a $5,000 grant from Innovation 80. This grant supports FreshLens and our Event Corp. Our students have been photographing many of the other organizations supported by Innovation 80. Innovation 80 has used our FreshLens student’s photography as an integral part of their website. Check out their website https://www.innovation80.org.

Event Corp
Please remember The FreshLens Event Corp for any of your upcoming events. While our students are not professionals, they have completed between 24 and 32 weeks of intensive training and have been doing a great job. For prices and details contact Denise Orlin at orlind@freshlenschicago.org.

Winter Classes
We are growing steadily and are excited to be expanding from two to three classes this winter at our Chicago Photography Classes location. We will be teaching the Basic, Advanced and Event B. We will be also be working with our Englewood Partner “A Knock At Midnight” with a middle school program.
